Approach
Hotel Mahdev is just about 50 meters from the City Centre. It’s about 2.8 Kms which could take about 8 minutes from the railway station and 14.8 Kms which could take about 20 minutes from Jaisalmer Airport. The atmosphere in Mahadev Hotel is a relaxing atmosphere with facilities like the indoor pool, massage, horse riding, and garden.
Ambience
Jaisalmer being in Rajasthan and a hotel which has the name of Palace, chances are high it would be designed in such a way that it resembles a Palace, Fort or Castle. Every city has its tradition and one of the ways the traditions can be gauged is in the way the architecture of a place is constructed. Hotel Mahadev Place has tried to keep the tradition of Jaisalmer alive by placing the stones which are drawn from expensive mines which looks more like the honey in color. Some of the examples are Shipra, Moolsagar with grain, etc. The stones are large and have been cut in Rock-face style and seems like the only architecture that has used this style when it comes to the exterior of a building.
Food and Service
It is a vegetarian hotel and known to be a vegetarian's paradise with prompt service by the staff who are attentive. Food from outside is not allowed. Extension of the stay seems to be a common aspect because of the warmth in the service and the food being served in the right temperature by the staff. Besides this there is a 24-hour room service wherein you can order from the comfort of your room and the staff of room service are prompt too. The staff are knowledgeable as well in the product that they service. In case any need arises, the staff seems to be trained to go beyond their call of duty to provide the best Guest Relation service to their guests. The rooms have the option to dispense tea / coffee as there is coffee / tea maker in the room in case, any guest prefers to not wait for their tea or coffee, especially in the morning when the guest wakes up.

Hotel Mahadev Palace is a heritage hotel and is considered as Best Heritage Hotel in Jaisalmer. Admirers of architecture would find this place as a treasure trove as it has imbibed the Jaisalmer’s style of architecture. Probably, something that may not be seen in the world. Some of them are what we call as Jharokhas which are known as carved balconies in English, sit-in-chhatris which are known as pavilion with domes in English and latticed screens which are what we call in Hindi as jaalis.
