I visited Oko for one of my friend’s birthday celebration. We had planned a surprise party for her. So the decoration was all taken care of by the staff. The Lalit Hotel is one of the most famous hotels of this city. and located in one fine corner of this hotel, is this gem of a restaurant that is very ideal for small private celebrations. The hotel is inspired by the famous French architect Le Corbusier, which is reflected both in its architecture as well as the interiors. The dishes are impeccably plated. Even though it is tucked away in a discreet corner of the hotel, the restaurant screams attention with its fiery bold red interiors and a ceiling that will have you reaching for your phone to create an Instagram post. The seating is comfortable and conducive for both large crowds as well as intimate meetings.

OKO showcases distinctive cuisines of South East Asia, from Japanese and Thai to Vietnamese, Mandarin and Malaysian. The restaurant takes pride, and rightfully so, for its extensive Teppanyaki range, signature sushi and Japanese meals off the grill. The menu also packs in a robust selection of starters, soups, salads, seafood, poultry and meats hop-scotching across Thai, Chinese, Malaysian cuisinea and the staff is professional and prompt. The service is prompt and quick. The staff is friendly and professional. They have an inhouse decor and catering team for different events to take place smoothly.

When it comes to speciality restaurants in Chandigarh, Southeast Asian cuisine from OKO seems to be a ruling favourite. While the fine diner opened doors a few years ago, it can be duly credited for retaining authentic flavours and being consistent at that.
